More effective oven heat Because it's a multifunction oven, the Hotpoint SHS53XS is able to maintain an even temperature throughout its single cavity, helping to cut down cooking times and overall temperature compared to conventional ovens. It also has specialised functions that let you cook in a variety of different ways depending on the recipe and effects that you want to acheive. Use the top element only to give a delicious brown surface to your food while at the same time locking in the juices for a succulent and mouthwatering meal. The Gratin mode also uses the top element but employs the fan which allows the heat to penetrate your food for thoroughly cooked results without burning the surface.
