The Specialized Roubaix Sport Road Bike 2020 has proven that Smoother is Faster. Until this moment, however, smooth has admittedly come with some compromises. But not anymore. The all-new Roubaix Expert now delivers compliance without compromise by introducing a radical new Future Shock 1.5 that gives you more control on rough roads, a new Pavé seatpost that creates our most balanced Roubaix to date, aerodynamics that equal the Tarmac, and a Rider-First Engineered™ frame that’s shed some serious weight. Is it still comfortable? Sure, but don’t call it a comfort bike, because performance was behind every engineering decision we made. This is the new Roubaix. Specialized Roubaix Sport Road Bike 2020 Features The new frame delivers compliance without compromise via the perfect balance of aerodynamics, light overall weight via a FACT 10r carbon construction, compliance, and Rider-First Engineering™. With tube shapes that were born in our FreeFoil Shape Library and validated in the Win Tunnel, the new Roubaix’s as aero as the Tarmac SL6. Meanwhile, to ensure the weight and ride quality, we turned to a Rider-First Engineered™ design to deliver optimal stiffness and compliance across all sizes, from 44 to 64cm. Of course, the frame has shed some serious weight in the process. And to prep you for your own Hell of the North, we’ve made room for 33mm tires To go along with the new frame, we’ve also developed a totally-new S-Works Pavé seatpost. Not only is it the first compliant seatpost that’s aerodynamic, it does so without any additional weight or contraptions. Starting with the same d-shape design found in the Tarmac, we took its compliance a step further, building additional flex into the upper and developing a new drop-clamp design in the frame. In the end, it provides plenty of compliance, while staying perfectly balanced with the front end, delivering a sublime, smooth ride no matter how rough the road.  With 20mm of rough-road-taming travel, the Future Shock 1.5 not only delivers a smoother, more comfortable ride, but it also reduces fatigue and increases speed over harsh terrain. The new Smooth Boot, meanwhile, enhances the aesthetics to bring a clean transition from the head tube to the stem "

When you're rolling smoother, you're rolling faster. And regardless of if you're on the cobbles of Northern France or the chip-and-seal of your hometown, you'll benefit immensely from the 2019 Specialized Roubaix Comp. The super-light frame has been constructed from the FACT 10r carbon fibre. Its stiffness levels are also off the charts, and compared to the SL4 iteration of yesteryear, you'll experience a whole new, faster, and more efficient geometry. Through some sophisticated engineering, however, Specialized managed to keep the same fit, feel, and position that we've all come to love from the SL4, and kept it consistent throughout the size-range with Rider-First Engineered™ construction. Of course, you're probably thinking, get on to the suspension thing up front. Specialized call it Future Shock, and essentially, it's a piston in the head tube with 20mm of travel. This technology was developed in partnership with McLaren Applied Technologies, and the result of this are a host of drastic performance improvements, namely in the vertical compliance department. Without giving a physics lecture, Specialized found that focusing on vertical compliance, instead of fork splay, meant that they could improve smoothness, speed, and comfort in one fell swoop. And of all the bikes that they've tested with the Rolling Efficiency Model, the Roubaix outperforms anything on the market. Lastly, the 2019 Roubaix Comp is spec'd with awesome components, like Ultegra 8000 11-speed mechanical shifting, 8020 hydraulic disc brakes, and ultra-tough DT R470 Disc wheels that have been cased in our Turbo Pro 28mm tyres. Specialized Roubaix Comp 2019 Features Features a Rider-First Engineered™ design that ensures every frame size has the same legendary responsiveness and smooth ride quality that you'd expect from a Roubaix. The FACT 10r frameset holds its own with the highest-end carbon offerings, with the ideal blend of light overall weight and targeted stiffness, while the all-new Future Shock suspension system at the cockpit delivers a revolutionary degree of comfort and control. Shimano's Ultegra shifting and hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable shifting and stopping power in a variety of conditions. DT R470 Disc wheels feature reliable, sealed cartridge hubs, and 24 front and rear spokes that keeps weight low and durability high. Future Shock – Not all compliance is created Equal When it comes to compliance, you go two ways – Splay or Axial compliance. The Roubaix takes a new approach, providing a smoother ride via a suspension unit above the head tube. The Future Shock features up to 20mm of travel, and it’s positioned above the head tube in order to move in a vertical path. So when the front wheel encounters rough terrain, the bike moves up towards your hands and preserves your forward momentum without slowing you down. Another key factor is that, because the Future Shock is positioned above the stem, the bike’s wheels are held together rigidly by the frame. In other words, because the wheelbase isn’t changing throughout the suspension’s travel, like with traditional systems, you get the added benefit of extremely predictable handling. https://youtu.be/LOO5cdOQx0s Video displaying how the Future Shock works when put under compression. Designed to move the bike towards your hands, preserving your forward momentum without slowing you down, while also getting the added benefit of extremely predictable handling."

Of course, the frame has shed some serious weight in the process. And to prep you for your own Hell of the North, we’ve made room for 33mm tires. To go along with the new frame, we’ve also developed a totally-new S-Works Pavé seatpost. The new Smooth Boot, meanwhile, enhances the aesthetics to bring a clean transition from the head tube to the stem Specialized Roubaix Sport Road Bike 2021 Features FRAME: FACT 10R, Rider First Engineered™ (RFE), FreeFoil Shape Library tubes, threaded BB, 12x142mm thru-axle, flat-mount disc FORK: Future Shock 1.5 w/ Smooth Boot, 12x100mm thru-axle, flat-mount disc REAR DERAILLEUR: Shimano 105 R7000 GS, medium cage, 11-spee"

So long Zertz. It's been fun, but Specialized found someone better. The 2019 Specialized Roubaix Comp with Ultegra Di2 represents the future of road bikes, and with one ride, you'll feel exactly why. This 2019 Roubaix Comp Di2 comes equipped Shimano's latest Ultegra 8050 Di2 shifting, hydraulic 8070 disc brakes, and alloy DT R470 Disc wheels.

To go along with the new frame, we’ve also developed a totally-new S-Works Pavé seatpost. Not only is it the first compliant seatpost that’s ALSO aerodynamic, it does so without any additional weight or finicky contraptions. Starting with the same D-shape design found on the Tarmac, we took its compliance a step further by building additional flex into the upper and developing a new drop-clamp design in the frame. This provides plenty of compliance, while staying perfectly balanced with the front-end, so you get a smooth, balanced ride no matter how rough the road. With 20mm of rough-road-taming travel, the Future Shock 1.5 not only delivers a smoother, more comfortable ride, but it also reduces fatigue and increases speed over harsh terrain. The new Smooth Boot, meanwhile, enhances the aesthetics to bring a clean transition from the head tube to the stem"

Sorry, rough roads. Up until now, you've challenged only the bravest of riders to travel over you, but with the Future-Shock-Equipped 2019 Specialized Roubaix Expert with Shimano Ultegra Di2, the road less travelled is now the fun way home. This 2019 Specialized Roubaix Expert comes equipped with Shimano's latest Ultegra 8050 Di2 shifting, hydraulic 8070 disc brakes, and hand-built Roval C38 carbon fibre wheels. Specialized Roubaix Expert Ultegra Di2 2019 Features Features a Rider-First Engineered™ design that ensures every frame size has the same legendary responsiveness and smooth ride quality that you'd expect from a Roubaix. The FACT 10r frameset holds its own with the highest-end carbon offerings, with the ideal blend of light overall weight and targeted stiffness, while the all-new Future Shock suspension system at the cockpit delivers a revolutionary degree of comfort and control. Shimano's new Ultegra Di2 with hydraulic disc brakes not only offers exceptionally smooth and crisp shifts, but it also provides incredible stopping power and modulation. Yep, that's right—carbon wheels on an Expert-level bike. The Roval C38 Disc carbon wheels bring performance to the masses. They're lightweight, durable, and ready for just about anything. Designed to move the bike towards your hands, preserving your forward momentum without slowing you down, while also getting the added benefit of extreme"

The Specialized Roubaix Expert Road Bike 2020 has proven that Smoother is Faster. Until this moment, however, smooth has admittedly come with some compromises. But not anymore. The all-new Roubaix Expert now delivers compliance without compromise by introducing a radical new Future Shock 2.0 that gives you more control and damping options, a new Pavé seatpost that creates our most balanced Roubaix to date, aerodynamics that equal the Tarmac, and a Rider-First Engineered™ frame that’s shed some serious weight. Is it still comfortable? Sure, but don’t call it a comfort bike, because performance was behind every engineering decision we made. This is the new Roubaix. Specialized Roubaix Expert Road Bike 2020 Features The new frame delivers compliance without compromise via the perfect balance of aerodynamics, light overall weight, compliance, and Rider-First Engineering™. The Future Shock 2.0 is the result of our pro riders’ demands for the cobbles of Roubaix. It’s smoother, faster, and gives you more control via a knob atop the stem. This knob adjusts compression from fully-open to stiff, while hydraulically-damped internals control rebound. Add it up, and this latest version will reduce fatigue and increase your speed, no matter the terrain. The new Smooth Boot, top cap, and Future Stem also enhance the aesthetic, so you get a clean transition from head tube to stem."
