The Hope Carbon Seatpost with circular rails employs 24 individual plies of carbon and is crafted with a highly toughened epoxy resin system. Hope designed this seatpost to ensure a safe and rugged unit. The majority of the laminate comprises Unidirectional T700 fibre, the highest strength Standard Modulus fibre available. (Unidirectional fibres provide the maximum tensile strength and stiffness with minimum weight.) This is combined with strategically positioned plies of 3K twill woven fabric, adding hoop strength to resist clamping forces and mitigating failure mode in the event of serious crash damage. The 1K 2x2 twill weave fabric outer ply, also contributes in this respect together with a super smooth finish and bold visual aesthetic. The Hope Carbon 35mm Handlebars feature an optimised laminate that has been designed to increase strength in high stress areas, this enabled Hope to remove material from where it is not required to reduce weight. Hope might be a little late to the 35mm handlebar party, but their new bars should prove to be worth the wait. Most 35mm bars on the market have proved to be uncomfortably stiff and Hope knew they had to make something better. After much time and thought (and many cups of tea), they opted on using a completely new carbon laminate construction with a genuinely revolutionary new manufacturing technique. The end result is a bar that minimises vibrations, maximises feel, and is even more compliant than their existing 31.8mm model, without sacrificing strength. These bars are designed for ‘All Mountain’ use but Hope are pleased to say that they’ve turned out stronger than a lot of DH bars tested during development. Available 800mm wide with a 20mm rise, they’re designed, tested and manufactured in Barnoldswick, UK. The Hope Carbon Handlebar has been in the pipeline for a long time now, and after an extensive development and testing process, Hope are finally ready for their first venture into handlebars! Initially Hope looked into producing aluminium bars, but after an extensive development process Hope came the realisation that the only way to produce them in aluminium would be to use Far east manufacturing. After that, Hope turned to carbon fibre production. Developed hand in hand with the HB.211 frame, Hope have enabled their manufacturing to remain in Barnoldswick, while also gaining valuable experience in the lay-up process itself. Larger diameters around the bends help increase the overall strength of the bar, and the optimised laminate has been designed to increase strength in the high stress areas of the bar, whilst also removing unnecessary material to help reduce weight.
