The Fizik Cyrano R5 Handlebar. The Cyrano R5 is the entry level handlebar from fi'zi:k. Made from 6061 Anticorodal Aluminium. It offers the ability for riders to incorportate the fi'zi:k Spine Concept™ system at a lower price point. Just as your choice of fi'zi:k Spine Concept™ saddle shape is guided by your degree of spinal flexibility and subsequent pelvic rotation, fi'zi:k offers this same Spine Concept™ guideline to help you choose your most comfortable road handlebar shape. The application of The Spine Concept™ to handlebar shape is the result of fi'zi:k's research with riders of 3 UCI World Tour Teams that were riding fi'zi:k saddles. A correlation was found between the saddle shape each rider was using and the handlebar shape they were riding. The Snake Handlebar: If you are very spinally flexible (far less than 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders' width apart), you are a Snake. You are better able to reach further and get down lower to use the full radius of more rounded, classic-style, deeper-drop handlebars. You will prefer the Snake Handlebar because it has a longer reach (80mm on the 400mm bar and 85mm on the 420mm and 440mm) and deeper, classic-style drop (130mm on 400mm bar, 135mm on 420mm and 140mm on the 440mm bars). The Chameleon Handlebar: If you have an intermediate degree of spinal flexibility (approximately 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders' width apart), you are a chameleon. You are better able to reach further, but perhaps you can't get down quite as low on the handlebar drops as a Snake would be able to. You will prefer the Chameleon Handlebar because it has a longer reach (80mm on the 400mm bar and 85mm on the 420mm and 440mm) but a shallower, more ergonomic-style drop (130mm on the 400mm bar and 135mm on the 420mm and 440mm). The Bull Handlebar: If you have a relatively low degree of spinal flexibility (more than 90 degrees between your straight legs and back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders' width apart), you are a Bull. You will not be able to reach as far or bend as low as a Snake or a Chameleon would be able to. You will prefer the Bull Handlebar because it has a shorter reach (75mm on the 400mm bar and 80mm on the 420mm and 440mm) and a shallower, more ergonomic-style handlebar drop (125mm on the 400mm bar and 130mm on the 420mm and 440mm). The Fizik Cyrano R5 Seatpost. The Cyrano R5 is the entry price point alloy seat post from fi'zi:k. Made Anticorodal 6061 Aluminium. It is available in 2 diameters (27.2 and 31.6mm) and 2 lengths (270mm and 400mm) and designed to perfectly complement fi'zi:k Cyrano Handlebars and Stems. The saddle clamp is designed specifically to be saddle rail-friendly, ensuring an even dispersal of the load once a saddle is clamped in place. There is lots of fore-aft adjustment along the saddle rail as the top part of the clamp is shorter than the base. The saddle clamp has a flat top with no screws protruding. This means there is no danger of reducing saddle comfort derived from a dynamic saddle base that might otherwise be restricted from moving. The post can be used back to front, releasing the adjuster wheel all the way. This allows the rider to be closer to their bars in triathlon or time trials.
