A 3D-forged then precision machined lightweight aluminum mountain bike stem in both 31.8mm and 35.0mm models rated for cross country, trail, all-mountain, enduro and gravity applications.Our goal for the Alloy Mountain Stem was a product defined by strength, light-weight, ride quality and aesthetics that honor the art of machining aluminum while preserving as many of the performance benefits of our carbon M Series Handlebars. To achieve this, each alloy stem is cold-forged, and then extensively machined.The result is an incredibly strong and reliable stem, at only a slight weight penalty to carbon, but lighter than most premium alloy stems on the market. Given that stems and handlebars function as a team, the Alloy Mountain Stem’s clamp width is designed to complement M Series carbon handlebars and their unique flex profiles. To further perfect the pairing, the surfaces of the stem’s clamp area are refined to prevent damage to our M Series carbon handlebars. Additionally, the Alloy Mountain Stem features blind bolt holes to prevent sharp edges and battered knees. The Enve M6 MTB 31.8mm Handlebar is simply the perfect trail bar. The M6 bar is tuned for the dream combination of response, compliance and high strength. It is available in 7.5mm and 25mm rises. For trail riding, an expertly tuned 31.8mm carbon fiber handlebar offers the best ride feel and lowest weight. A modern width, proven geometry and a choice of rises ensures a great fit for all riders. The Enve M6 MTB 31.8mm Handlebar is the modern trail rider’s dream. Available in a traditional 25mm rise or a low 7.5mm rise, it sweeps back at 9° and up 5°, providing excellent support and a classic fit. Designed around a 31.8mm clamping diameter, the carbon laminate is tuned to deliver the ideal flex profile for trail use. This bar provides excellent vibration damping and response, making it the perfect choice for long days on epic terrain. Enve M6 MTB 31.8mm Handlebar Features Width and Stiffness Each ENVE bar is available in a specific width with cut lines to size the bar more appropriately for the rider. Often ENVE are asked, “Why aren’t all ENVE bars made extra wide?” It’s a good question. Each bar must pass their testing to earn its rating, requiring the wider bars to be stronger. However, if everyone is cutting those bars, the bar then becomes overbuilt and too many riders are forced to modify and resize. A subtler but equally important reason for not making each bar as wide as possible is that the width of a bar is a key element of its flex profile and feel. Like any handlebar, if the width of an ENVE bar is reduced, the stiffness increases, so ENVE build each bar in a specific length for the optimal weight and ride quality. For the M Series bars, we have actually reduced the recommended cut lengths in order to guide more riders to the correct bar. Rise The M Series handlebar line includes additional low and high-rise versions in key models to ensure that you can achieve a perfect riding position. As well as adjusting the height of your cockpit, the compound angles used to create the rise also provide a wider range of hand positions as you roll the bar forward or back in the stem. This is why you will see minimum rise 7.5 and 10mm options available for riders who need a low position, but demand the adjustability of a riser. Clamp Diameter ENVE now offers bars in the two most popular stem clamp diameters; 31.8 and 35.0mm. When choosing your next bar, consider these points. ENVE's Trail category M5 and M6 bars are all 31.8mm. This size allows them to achieve the optimum, compliant-yet-responsive flex profile for trail use while also minimizing weight. The M9 Gravity bars are also 31.8mm. Professional DH riders love them and still prefer their feel when combined with stiffer double crown forks on rougher tracks. The M7 bar features a 35mm clamp diameter for riders who want a stiffer feel for ultimate precision when attacking big terrain on long-travel bikes. The M7 also has an ‘oversize’ aesthetic which some riders find well-suited to a gravity bike.
